Creativity inspired by Travel and Nature
Hi, my name is Katrin
Switzerland is my birthplace and I also have a connection to South Africa – to the “Rainbow Country” where they call me Kat. I am self-employed travel entrepreneur and have a travel agency, specialiszing in wine and culinary tours in France, Italy and South Africa. I am a gourmet myself, so now wonder I really love what I do. 😉
I have always had the urge to travel and to explore the world. My inexhaustible curiosity and nomadic soul made me a globetrotter and they keep driving me on. On my journeys, I keep discovering beautiful places and hidden gems and I often meet creative people who inspire me.
Nature is a big enrichment and also a great inspiration for me. It is important that we protect and appreciate this source of life and that we treat nature with care and mindfully.
Photography or Painting? Both!
Bohemian at heart
The bohemian lifestyle has always fascinated me. In fact, I’ve always been a Bohemian at heart. More than 25 years ago I visited weekly the Art school of Norbert Paprotny in Zurich until his retirement. After that, unfortunately, I did not not touch any brush for over two decades. Only recently I rediscovered painting and it became my great hobby again very quickly. Nevertheless: I have to relearn and refresh most of the techniques again; but when you love doing something, it doesn’t really matter.
In 2017, I took a time-out. I went to travel and lived as a digital nomad. The journey ended in Cape Town, where I took a 6-month photography course at the Cape Town School of Photography. Definitely the best decision I’ve made in a long time. One of the things I want to do with photography while traveling is to capture moments so they don’t get forgotten.
What's all about?
The main reason I started this website is because I enjoy it, plain and simple. It was created through my 3 passions – Travel, Art and Nature. It is not a travel blog with travel tips. Rather it is meant to show how much travel and nature can inspire one’s creativity. And I would like to share these experiences here.
